Ford Witnesses Growth of 19% in Sales for March, Beating GM

Ford has not only managed to witness a sales growth of 19 per cent for March, but also out did their rival company General Motors. Ford and Lincoln sold a total number of 212,777 vehicles for the month of March, easily topping the sales figures of GM vehicles, which were 206,621. Ford has been the highest contributor as always, managing to sell 204,276 vehicles posting a gain of 28 per cent, while Lincoln managed to sell 8,501 vehicles, a drop of 2 per cent in sales.

However the non functioning Mercury dealers apparently ran out of used car model to sell, as a result having no impact on the sales figure of Ford models. There is a lot of good news to be derived from the sales results of Ford. The Ford Escape has set a monthly sales figure showing an increase of 25 per cent, for last month.

The new Ford Explorer even witnessed a great month having a sales gain of 111 per cent. Ford’s F Series of trucks also did quite well having a gain of 25 per cent selling 53,272 trucks. Of these 37 per cent were of V-6 engine powered trucks alone. The Lincoln sales however, were mixes as always. The MKT saw a huge drop in the number of sales, with a decrease of 39 per cent, selling just 455 vehicles.

The MKX meanwhile, continued to be the positive beacon in Lincoln’s portfolio, with an increase of 12 per cent in sales. The Lincoln Navigator meanwhile, has a gain of 10 per cent, selling a total of 742 vehicles.
